Meet Ebony Anderberg, a Swedish model with Ghanaian and Russian roots.
You’ve likely seen her grace our La Michaux feed with her unmistakable look, but there’s much more to her than meets the eye. Ebony splits her time between New York City and Costa Rica, where she models, teaches music, runs a beachside bootcamp, and co-hosts the empowering podcast “Ebony & Eline #nofilter.”
In this interview, we get personal about her spiritual mindset, advice to her younger self, and how she finds joy in simplicity.

Hi Ebony,
We're so happy to have you on the blog. Let's start with the basics, who is Ebony Anderberg beyond the images we see?
I’m originally from Sweden but my mom is from Ghana and Russia. I currently work as an international model, between NYC and Costa Rica. I have a fun side job that really allows me to stay true to my passion which is music.
For the past 10 years I’ve been teaching people from all age groups how to play the guitar. My biggest passion in life is fitness and I have a Boot Camp military training camp on the beach in Costa Rica, Puerto Viejo.
You recently launched a podcast, Ebony & Eline #nofilter. What inspired you to start it & what can listeners expect?
We wanted to inspire and educate young people out there about how it is to be a model. We are taking you guys behind the scenes!
It’s a very fun and interesting podcast where we share everything from our deepest insecurities and happiest moments in life.
Quarantine hit everyone differently. How dit it shape your perspective & did it lead to any new hobbies or realizations?
Trying to stay positive! I was stuck in Costa Rica during the pandemic so I had a great quarantine on the beach, haha! Sorry for that!
I missed my family and friends a lot, I wasn’t able to fly back home for over 10 months.
What helped me was to just embrace the stillness, tap into your core values and try out something new!! To start a new hobby is something that really works when you’re in a funky mood!
You’ve mentioned being spiritual. How does that help you navigate life's tougher moments, especially in such a fast-paced industry like fashion?
I always trust my gut feeling. But most importantly I have faith in the universe.
Witch means that what ever happens to you is happening FOR you!
There is always growth in ever situation, even tho it’s hard to believe that sometimes.
Have faith that the universe wants the best for you even if you feel like everything is going against you.
I start my days with journaling and meditation, that is essential for my mental health.
If you could go back and give your younger self a few words of advice, what would you say to her?
Don’t worry too much
Don’t take anything personally
Have more fun
Stop be self critic

What's your idea of a perfect summer day?
Walk up and run straight to the beach! Spend an amazing day with friends, lots of fresh fruits and maybe a fresh new caught fish on the grill to end the day!
