Why I Created LMA by La Michaux - Female Combat Sports

The Gap I Felt in Combat Sports as a Woman

After years of training across the world, especially in Thailand, the origin of Muay Thai — one thing became very clear to me: There is a gap in the market for female combat sports clothing.
Performance exists. Function exists, but nothing truly considers the female body or the way women actually live with the sport.

Because combat sports don’t stay in the gym... It becomes part of you: your rhythm, your mindset, your lifestyle. You live it. You breathe it. You become obsessed with it.

But what we wear? It stays stuck in the gym.
There was nothing that allowed me to take that identity into everyday life.
Nothing that felt feminine in a space that’s traditionally very masculine.
Nothing I could wear from training into real life...styled with a shirt, a blazer, even heels.

I’ve had so many moments, especially when I first started in 2019, where I felt judged for doing a “masculine” sport, while not always feeling feminine in it.
And the truth is, what you wear really affects how you feel in your own skin.

At the same time, combat sports gave me everything.
Discipline. Confidence. Self-defense.
Especially traveling all over the world, alone as a woman, it completely changed the way I move through the world. I always say: "it changes your aura."
You walk differently. You speak differently. Your energy shifts.
There’s a quiet confidence in knowing you can defend yourself.

That’s why it makes me so happy to see women’s combat sports growing right now: boxing, Muay Thai, all of it. More women are stepping into it.
But the clothing hasn’t caught up, we’re still choosing between performance or femininity, between function or identity.

I didn’t want to choose, so I created LMA — La Michaux Athletic.
A female combat sports line designed at the intersection of performance and high fashion.
Built for women who train, but also live, move, and express themselves beyond the gym.

Because strength and femininity are not opposites, and they never should have been.
We were never meant to define ourselves by just one role.
